Pakistan’s Punjab Minister for Agriculture, Syed Hussain Jehania Gardezi has announced that under CPEC, the country will work to introduce vertical farming. Moreover, he also added that vertical farming will be introduced as part of a cooperation mechanism with China’s help. Minister Jehania also highlighted that under CPEC, Pakistan’s agriculture sector is getting a boost.
Pakistan will introduce vertical farming with China’s help under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a Pakistani minister said on Sunday afternoon.
Punjab Provincial Minister for Agriculture Syed Hussain Jehania Gardezi announced that the mega project of CPEC will change the agriculture system in the country.
“Vertical farming would be introduced in the country with the cooperation of China under the mega project of CPEC,” he told journalists on the occasion of the Kissan (farmers) Convention at the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture.
The minister stated that the government was striving hard to develop new areas for agriculture. “CPEC is helping us a lot in agriculture,” he acknowledged.
About the series of Kissan Conventions in the province, the minister underscored that it was aimed to create awareness among farmers for maximum cultivation of wheat.
About Cotton, Gardezi predicted that the dying cotton crop was on its way to revival due to effective policies of the government.
