During a press briefing marking centenary of Communist Party of China (CPC), Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Pakistan accepts the official Chinese statement on its treatment of Uighurs in China’s Xinjiang province. He added that Pakistan supports Beijing’s stance because of the dynamic relationship enjoyed by both. Moreover, he called the biasness in international media with regards to calling out China but shying away from highlighting human rights violations in Kashmir. He also talked about CPC’s alternative model of governance and how it operates on the basis of merit to weed out corruption and hold people accountable. He concluded by appreciating China for its continuous support to Pakistan during the covid-19 pandemic.
